'The Wellness Chef' Sandie Vara is not only a renowned private dining chef to many stars in the world of sports, but he also works with professional athletes as a Keto and dietary Consultant. Showing them a different way of eating that can not only support but drastically transform both their physique and performance.

 

Sandie lives a predominantly clean Keto lifestyle, with regular periodic fasting. The personal journey he has been on through improving his health, including coming back from being on the brink of diabetes and carrying out a drastic weight loss, has meant that he has developed a way of life that he knows would be of high value to everyone, but in particular, people within Sports. A professional athlete cannot become their best without developing a rigorous routine and attitude to both their fitness and dietary practice.

Many varied approaches are taken in regard to nutrition and weight, and beliefs around food and nutrition vary just as much. Opinions such as: 'eating fat = becoming fat', or 'low-fat = a healthier option' and 'consuming more carbohydrates = having more energy'. Sandie's knowledge of food and history blows all of these confused theories out of the water, calling back scientific proof that these systemic, ingrained beliefs around our diets and the things we often consider to be "healthy" are entirely wrong and have misled us our entire lives.

Sandie now helps people in professional sports careers to understand how the body truly works. He does this by taking them right back to the basics of what the different food components do within our bodies, from fats to sugars, carbohydrates and proteins. After working closely with a handful of professional athletes, he has been able to see the progress in not only how they look but how they perform, too. Watching his clients develop so definitively from the day they first committed to carrying out a full-time Keto/low-carb lifestyle to now has been incredibly rewarding for Sandie. However, he now wishes to bring this to the masses with a programme that he has put together, especially for athletic organisations:

The 'Food Optimises Overall Development Programme' (F.O.O.D)

This will provide tailored athletic improvement through Sandie's 'F.O.O.D. = Performance workshops and 'Focus on Y.O.U (Young Outstanding Up and Comers within Sports) plan.

In these workshops, Sandie will come to wherever your athletes are based and explain through a visual presentation the way that eating a Keto diet optimises our health and does so by reducing sugar and increasing fat and protein intake.

Therefore, not only utilising the correct energy sources But also storing less 'harmful fat reserves'. As a result of this, the body becomes more self-sufficient in healing itself quicker, preserving energy and sustaining appetite satisfaction.

Then, Sandie goes on to do a live cookery demonstration, talking about the kinds of foods that they can work with on a Keto/low-carb diet and then also sharing with the athletes the kinds of dishes they would be looking to eat. Following this, a live cook-along class, where the athletes themselves would get involved in the cooking, developing some basic skills and knowledge to help get the best out of simple Keto dishes. Finally, in addition to educating the athletes, Sandie provides them with a 'F.O.O.D. & Y.O.U guidance plan', which holds a carefully selected collection of recipes and spice blends from The Wellness Chef's unique range.

This will be given to each of the athletes to either cook for themselves or pass on to their home chefs as a point of reference for their new dietary needs. This guidance plan is given by Sandie, with the instructions to be displayed and used in the same way a hygiene guide would be - a constantly accessible visual aid and utensils in the kitchen to be followed rigidly.

The F.O.O.D and Y.O.U Package covers a minimum of 10 athletes to attend. 

 Any additions will be charged per head.
